Traveling Hand-to-hand with Whales in their Natural habitat
An experience for those who love nature´s spectacles and wish to admire two of the biggest mammals in the world in their natural habitat in Laguna de Ojo de Liebre. A place where thousands of whales go to reproduce after a long journey through the freezing waters of Alaska, all the way to Baja California´s peninsula. A tour designed specifically for those who love natural phenomena and wish to observe the gray whale´s natural habitat in Baja California.
Day 1: San Luis Gonzaga Bay
At the designated parting hour from Tijuana we´ll set out to Tecate and La Rumorosa, where we´ll stop to take pictures. From there, we will continue to San Felipe, Mexicali, where you can enjoy a beautiful scenic view of Valle de los Gigantes and continue forth to the landscape of Mar de Cortes. We´ll stop at Puertecitos to enjoy the hot springs, and finally, we´ll arrive at San Luis Ganzaga Bay to enjoy the sunset and your hotel.
Day 2: Guerrero Negro
First thing in the morning we´ll head on to Guerrero Negro to take on our first whale watching tour at Laguna Ojo de Liebre, in the afternoon, we´ll visit the world´s biggest salt works as well as the ancient lighthouse where more than 200 species of birds migrate to during the winter. In the evening, we´ll head back to the hotel at San Ignacio.
Day 3: San Ignacio Lagoon
At the designated hour, we´ll head to San Ignacio Lagoon where we´ll have our second encounter with the giant mammals and enjoy the tranquility of the place, finally heading back to the hotel at San Ignacio.
Day 4: Santa Rosalia and Mulege
We´ll continue our adventure early in the morning by heading to the French inspired town Santa Rosalia, visit the church designed by the Mr. Eiffel, mining museum and head to Mulege, then rest at Bahia Concepcion to enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the peninsula right before heading to Loreto. You´ll have the rest of the afternoon free and of course you hotel.
Day 5: Loreto and Blue Whale Watching
This will be a very special and interesting day in your tour; we´ll travel through some islands in search of the blue whale, Loreto is one of the few places in the world that allows for blue whale watching, all thanks to the preservation of its habitat, which has an unimaginable variety of natural riches. After whale watching, we´ll go back to Cataviña with a few breaks along the way.
Day 6: San Quintin
We´ll start off the day by visiting a Christian mission in El Rosario de Abajo and its museum; after that, we´ll continue our tour to a crater-like sea lion den, and in the end we´ll continue our tour of San Quintin until we arrive at Tijuana, thus, ending our tour.
